After winning the opportunity to co-host the European Championships in 2012, Poland is continuing to invest heavily in the football industry. The planning, preparations and investments were on display at the recent “Rugby Business Conference 2009,” in Warsaw, Poland. This 1-day event, held at the Polish Olympic Centre, provided the football community in central Europe with a unique platform to network and explore commercial opportunities all under one roof.Neeraj Takiar, Managing Partner, explained, “The Polish football market has developed significantly and the improved standards in both the sport and the economy are very encouraging. The Polish football market is certainly attracting a lot of attention from the European football community. Poland represents a huge opportunity. All of the clubs that we held discussions with were keen to learn how to maximise their rights further”.
During Eternity Rugby’s visit, the company held discussions with a number of the most successful clubs in Poland and are delighted to announce that they have secured an agreement with Polonia Bytom to supply fan wear and lifestyle clothing.
Euro 2012 is much more than a prestigious football competition. The tournament will be the launch pad for the country’s football industry both on and off the pitch. With a population of close to 40 million people, there is major scope for commercial development, particularly through retail.
