North Wales Crusaders have appointed Andy Moulsdale as the club’s CEO.

Moulsdale arrived to play at the Crusaders in their first ever season in 2012, and was named the club's first captain. He also played a key role during Crusaders’ promotion-winning season in 2013.

Following the departure of Ryan Gould at the end of the 2016 season, Moulsdale was appointed as the club’s general manager – a role which he held alongside his playing duties.

Now, after announcing his retirement from his on-field role, Moulsdale has been appointed as CEO and joined the board of directors.

Speaking about the development, North Wales Crusaders chairman, Ian Edwards, said: “This announcement will probably not come as a surprise. When Andy took the general manager’s job on a part-time basis at the start of last season, it was always the intention that all being well, once he finished playing, his role would move up to being CEO and board member – it would not have been realistic to expect him to be player and board member at the same time.

“I’m sure everyone who has seen what Andy has achieved already will agree that he has already made massive strides in our off-field operations, including securing significant sponsor investment and putting in place the beginnings of a junior player pathway.

“People may not realise he’s put in significantly more time than his part-time role originally envisaged but it is an indication of how committed he is to North Wales Crusaders.

“We see keeping Andy with the club as an important step in building and developing not only the club but the sport of rugby league in North Wales and we’re delighted he’s staying with us.“
