Action Images enjoy success at SJ Awards

Action Images photographer Scott Heavey collected Britain's top honour for sports photography after winning the prestigious "Sports Photographer of the Year" award at the Sports Journalists' Association (SJA) Awards on Monday night.

In addition to scooping the top prize, Scott also won "Sports Portfolio" and was highly commended in the "Young Photographer" and "Specialist Sports Portfolio" categories.

Andrew Couldridge was highly commended for his excellent boxing photography entries in both the "Sports Picture" and "News Picture" categories. Paul Thomas was also highly commended in the "Young Photographer" category.

Reuters photographers won several accolades with Toby Melville claiming the "Specialist Sports Portfolio" award and a highly commended in the "Sports Portfolio" category. Reuters' Eddie Keogh won "News Picture of the Year" and also a highly commended in the "Specialist Sports Portfolio".
