Blackpool fans top NHS league

An online survey conducted by NHS choices has revealed that Blackpool fans are the healthiest in the Premier League.

Over half the Blackpool supporters that took part are classed as being a healthy weight. Other high scoring crowds include Wigan, with 81% of fans revealing they are non smokers and Tottenham Hotspur where 85% of fans drink within the recommended daily limits.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea also join Premier League newcomers Blackpool in the top half of the table.

 At the bottom of the scale Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers and Fulham have the unhealthiest supporters in the league. Over a third of all Blackburn Rovers fans smoke, Fulham fans drink the most alcohol in the country, and over half of Sunderland supporters are of unhealthy weight.

NHS choices is using these results to promote its Rugby Fan Fitness Challenge, an initiative designed to get fans more healthy.
