Coventry City reveal new sponsorship details
Coventry City have announced that Puma has extended its kit sponsorship of the club for a further five years while The Cassidy Group will end its time as the main shirt sponsor.
The kits and training wear worn by the team and the replicas worn by supporters have been supplied by PUMA for the past four years and the new extension will continue the partnership until 2015.
The Sky Blues are among a growing portfolio of clubs that have signed up with the brand and Nathan Kosky, Coventry City's commercial director, said it was mutually beneficial.
He said: "We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship with PUMA. We have enjoyed a successful partnership over the last four years with great service and product and are looking forward to an equally positive future.
"Commercially, the club has taken huge strides in the past couple of years and we are all delighted that this extremely strong partnership will continue."
The club's new home and away kits will be launched in June and Roger Harrison, PUMA UK marketing director, said: "We are happy to be extending our existing partnership with Coventry and confident that we will continue to achieve great exposure for PUMA throughout the West Midlands."
The Cassidy Group - the international property development firm based in Meriden - has announced it will end its shirt deal with the club when the season finishes in May to allow for a national sponsor to take over.
The company, owned by City supporters Patric and James Cassidy, has decided not to renew the deal to allow the club to seek a new backer.
James Cassidy said: "Cassidy Group are committed to helping improve sports within the city, and a successful football club is a key component of that.
"Five years ago the club was in severe financial difficulties and we were proud to help in what was their darkest hour. Under new management the club has come a long way and are now in a position to attract a national sponsor. Both Patric and I, and our families, are proud to have played a part in that.
"It has and continues to be a really good relationship. We will still be very visible at the Ricoh Arena and are very keen to see the club thrive, but we feel it is now in a position where it can pursue new avenues."
