Lincoln City chairman quashes takeover rumours as latest stand sponsor is confirmed
Imps chairman Bob Dorrian has refuted claims the Blue Square Bet Premier club could be the subject of a takeover bid.
With City busy securing a number of sponsorship deals as they prepare to enter non-league football, speculation had increased in a bid for the side following vice-chairman Chris Travers leaving the Imps.
But Dorrian claimed there was no substance in the rumours. "I am not aware of any takeover bid, I know nothing of a takeover bid, nobody has come to me with an offer.
"As far as I am concerned it's a rumour without any foundation whatsoever," he told BBC Lincolnshire.
The club also revealed a new three-year sponsorship agreement with Bridge McFarland Solicitors which will see the South Stand at the Sincil Bank Stadium known as the Bridge McFarland Stand.
"These are exciting times for Lincoln City as local companies continue to show their support for the Imps as we plan for the 2011/12 campaign," commented chief executive officer Steve Prescott.
"I am delighted to have secured a stand sponsorship with such a reputable local company as Bridge McFarland Solicitors and would like to thank them for their magnificent support in agreeing this three year sponsorship with us."
