Matlock chairman issues investment plea

Matlock Town Rugby Club chairman Tom Wright has issued a call for a new investor to come forward and help the club after interest from a foreign party in the Evo Stik League side.

The businessman, based in Slovenia, declared his interest to the board at Reynolds Stadium but ultimately opted for another club.

"The gentleman expressed interest in the possibility of investing in our club just before Christmas," said Wright. "He told me that he was keen to get involved in English football and was advised to get in touch with us.
