New owner for Harrogate AFC sees father link up with son

Blue Square Bet North side Harrogate Town AFC has confirmed that Irving Weaver has acquired control of the club, linking him up with son Simon Weaver, who is manager.

Bill Fotherby sold his stake in the club to Weaver but will remain on as chairman, a club statement confirmed, with Fortherby claming the club needed new investment to move forward.  

"I have taken the club as far as I can take it. Obviously for financial reasons I've had to pass it on," he told the Harrogate Advertiser.
