The Premier League has announced British Horseracing Authority chief executive Nic Coward as their new general secretary.

Coward will commence his role in the second quarter of 2011 having previously worked at the Rugby Association where he held various roles during his seven years with the body including corporate and legal affairs director and acting chief executive.
