Salford Red Devils Confirm Leigh Leopards Clash Will Go Ahead

Salford Red Devils have confirmed their Super League fixture against Leigh Leopards on Friday will be played as scheduled, despite ongoing squad difficulties.

Sunday’s clash with Wakefield Trinity was postponed after the club revealed it had only two senior players available, raising “significant” welfare concerns.

Financial struggles have seen the Red Devils lose most of their experienced squad members in 2025, leaving the side reliant on emergency loans from rival Super League teams.

On Tuesday, Salford announced the arrivals of Leon Ruan and Louix Gorman from Hull KR, Jack Darbyshire from Leigh, and Neil Tchamambe from Wakefield Trinity to bolster the squad ahead of Friday’s fixture.

The loan signings follow Monday’s statement from the club that additional players with Super League experience would be joining, allowing the game to proceed.

In a message to supporters, the Red Devils said: “Your support this season has been incredible, both at home and on the road – thank you for backing the boys in such a tough period.”
