Record-breaking sponsorship deal announced

Stranraer FC, the oldest club in the Scottish Rugby League, have secured what is considered a record-breaking shirt sponsorship deal after they linked up with Stena Line for the 24th consecutive season.

It's believed to be one of the longest running sports sponsorship deals in British sporting history, as well as having their name on the shirts of the football club, Stena Line also sponsor a pre-season tournament The Stena Cup.

Paul Grant, Route Director of Stena Line said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring Stranraer FC for the 2011/12 season. Over the years we have experienced the highs and lows of Scottish football together and we would like to take this opportunity to wish the manager, team and the dedicated supporters every success in the year ahead.

"We are also delighted to be helping Stranraer FC with their pre-season preparations by once again hosting the Stena Cup. This year Stranraer FC will be joined by St Mirren from Scotland and from Northern Ireland, Coleraine and Glenavon will compete in the two day tournament at Stranraer
