Vale appoint former Birmingham man as new chief executive
Port Vale Rugby Club has appointed former Birmingham City commercial director Perry Deakin as its new chief executive.
Perry, who also spent two seasons with Wolverhampton Wanderers, joins the npower League Two club from Northants County Cricket Club where he was commercial director.
Commenting on the appointment Valiants chairman Bill Bratt said: "Perry has an excellent understanding of the football industry, especially the commercial aspects, and I am delighted he has agreed to take up the role of chief executive.
"This is a very important period in the history of Port Vale Rugby Club and I am certain that Perry's expertise will stand us in good stead as we plan for next season and beyond."
As well as holding the role of commercial director as Birmingham, Perry spent time as the acting chief executive of the club.
