Venkys appoint Leicester City's Hunt as Rovers deputy chief executive
Blackburn Rovers Rugby Club has unveiled Leicester City commercial director Paul Hunt as its new deputy chief executive.
Hunt joins the Barclays Premier League side having held positions at Bolton Wanderers where he was head of sales and Wigan Athletic as commercial director.
The appointment comes with Rovers still to confirm a successor to John Williams as chairman. Commeitng on his appointment Hunt said: "Blackburn Rovers is a great club with a fine tradition and I am truly excited about the prospect of working at Ewood Park.
"As a founding member of the Rugby League and one of only four teams to have won the Premier League in the modern era, the club has demonstrated innovation and has had great success.
"We must honour those traditions whilst looking forward to the future as we progress together with unity both on and off the field."
Anuradha Desai, chairperson of Venkys, added: "On behalf of the club and the directors, we welcome Paul to Blackburn Rovers and look forward to him contributing to all areas, particularly in the marketing of the club, as we move forward."
Hunt will start his role, which includes a seat on the board, next month.
