Salford Red Devils COO Resigns

Salford Red Devils chief operating officer Claire Bradbury has resigned from her role and alleged that members of the club’s ownership made a misogynistic suggestion involving her and an official at the Rugby Football League (RFL).

Bradbury, who joined the Super League side in October 2024 after more than three years at Sale Sharks, stepped down after less than a year in post.

In a statement on LinkedIn, she said ownership had suggested she should “sleep with someone at the RFL to smooth things over” during a difficult period for the club.

Bradbury added: “Misogynistic, inappropriate language… is not acceptable. At the time I stayed quiet because I wanted the club to succeed. I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t stand up to it then, so I’m voicing it now for the integrity and evolution of rugby league, and for all women who work in sport.”

In response, Salford said they “condemn inappropriate language and behaviour” and confirmed a thorough internal investigation would take place.

An RFL spokesperson told Sky Sports News: “Any language and suggestion of this kind is clearly offensive and unacceptable.”

Bradbury’s departure comes amid ongoing uncertainty around Salford’s financial and governance situation, with the club facing scrutiny over its future sustainability.
