St Helens and Hull FC have confirmed plans to take Super League to Dublin in 2027, joining a historic weekend of rugby league in Ireland.

The two clubs will meet on Sunday, 25 April 2027, as part of a landmark double-header at Dublin's Laya Arena. The fixture will follow the previous day's clash between Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors, which is set to become the first Super League match played in Ireland.

The announcement was made by St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus ahead of Thursday evening's fixture between the two clubs at the BrewDog Stadium.

Speaking to Sky Sports, McManus revealed that St Helens and Hull FC had been working together on the project alongside Warrington and Wigan.

He said: "We've today signed a formal partnership with Hull FC.

"We've been in discussions with them and with Warrington and Wigan for some while now that we will supplement the Saturday fixture with a Sunday game between Saints and Hull FC."

Hull FC chairman Andrew Thirkell welcomed the opportunity to be part of what is expected to be a major occasion for the sport.

He said: "We know our supporters enjoy making special occasions of away fixtures. Dublin provides the perfect destination for what we hope will become a fantastic rugby league weekend.

"We are pleased to be working alongside St Helens on our fixture and collectively with Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves to deliver something that we believe will be a tremendous spectacle both on and off the field."

The match will take place at the newly refurbished Laya Arena, the 20,000-capacity home of Leinster Rugby, providing a high-profile stage for the continued growth of the sport outside its traditional heartlands.

McManus believes the event will help introduce rugby league to a new audience while creating a major showcase for the game.

He added: "It's going to be fantastic for rugby league, we will showcase our game to the Irish who will be open to this sport and will love it. It's going to be a great weekend for us all."

The addition of St Helens and Hull FC to the Dublin programme means the Irish capital is set to host an entire weekend of Super League action in 2027, further underlining the sport's ambition to expand its reach and attract new supporters.
