Wakefield Trinity vs Leeds Rhinos postponed

Wakefield Trinity's Super League match with Leeds Rhinos on Thursday has been postponed after two of their players tested positive for coronavirus.

The game, the fifth to be called off since the season resumed last month, was postponed after the positive results were announced on Tuesday.

One of the players to have the virus was involved in Wakefield's defeat by Warrington on Sunday.

The Trinity squad will now have a further round of tests on Friday.

A decision will then be made about their fixture against Hull FC, which is currently scheduled to take place on 10 September.

Following the cancellation of the Wakefield-Leeds match, Salford Red Devils' game against Castleford Tigers has been moved to 20:15 BST on Thursday, having originally been due to start at 14:30 BST.

Hull Kingston Rovers against Wigan Warriors will remain a 18:00 BST kick-off, with all of this week's fixtures taking place at Emerald Headingley Stadium in Leeds.

While Warrington's playing and coaching staff have already returned a full set of negative test results this week, six of the Wolves players will have to self-isolate for 14 days following test and trace analysis of their meeting with Wakefield.

Those players will be unavailable for their next two games, against Hull FC and Castleford Tigers.
